1. Under the WTO SPS Agreement, which body is the reference standard-setter for food safety?
C. The Codex Alimentarius Commission
The SPS Agreement recognises three sisters: Codex for food safety, WOAH for animal health and zoonoses, and IPPC for plant health. ISO standards are voluntary and relevant to the TBT Agreement and management systems, not the SPS reference role.

2. A certified coffee farm produces 800 kg per ha, of which only 60 percent finds certified buyers. Certification and compliance cost 180 CU per ha a year, and yields are unchanged. What is the minimum farm-gate premium per kg of certified sales at which certification breaks even?
C. 0.375 CU per kg
Break-even premium = cost ÷ certified volume = 180/(800 × 0.6) = 180/480 = 0.375 CU/kg. Dividing by all output (0.225) assumes every kilo earns the premium; 0.562 divides by the uncertified volume; 0.135 scales cost by the share instead of dividing.
