Written papers on energy management and auditing, energy efficiency in thermal and electrical utilities; energy auditors take an additional paper and practical component.
Statutory certification under the Energy Conservation Act; relevant to the energy-environment subject and agro-industry roles. The official page could not be loaded during this build, so format is from general knowledge.

Original questions written to this exam's published syllabus and pattern. Not past papers.
1. A pump lifts 0.02 m³ s⁻¹ of water through a total head of 30 m. With pump efficiency 50 per cent and motor efficiency 85 per cent, what electrical input power is needed? (ρ = 1000 kg m⁻³, g = 9.81 m s⁻²)
B. 13.8 kW
Hydraulic power = 1000 × 9.81 × 0.02 × 30 = 5886 W = 5.89 kW; electrical input = 5.89 ÷ (0.50 × 0.85) = 13.8 kW. 5.9 is hydraulic power; 11.8 ignores the motor; 2.5 multiplies by the efficiencies instead of dividing.

2. How does a preliminary (walk-through) energy audit differ from a detailed audit?
C. It uses existing data and a site visit, without full measurement
A walk-through audit is a quick assessment using available data; a detailed audit measures energy use by equipment and quantifies savings and costs. Neither replaces financial appraisal.
