The official credentials page was read: Green Associate is the foundational credential, LEED AP with specialty is advanced and requires it, and exams are taken at Prometric or remotely. Question count and duration were not on that page. Peripheral to agri-food work but widely held.

Original questions written to this exam's published syllabus and pattern. Not past papers.

1. In the cut-off (recycled content) approach to recycling, how are burdens treated?

  1. The product using recycled material bears the recycling burdens; the first life gets no credit
  2. The product sending material to recycling is credited for the avoided virgin production
  3. Burdens and credits of recycling are split equally between the first and second lives of the material
  4. Recycled material is assigned the full burden of the virgin material it replaces
Answer and working

A. The product using recycled material bears the recycling burdens; the first life gets no credit

In the cut-off approach each product carries burdens up to the point its waste is recycled; the user of recycled material carries the recycling process and gets the benefit of lower-burden input. Crediting the sender is the avoided-burden (end-of-life) approach; splitting is the 50:50 approach; the full virgin burden on recycled material is none of these.
