A deliveries table has rows (village, litres): (A, 3000), (A, 2500), (B, 4000), (C, 1500), (C, 2000), (C, 2200). How many rows does this query return? SELECT village, SUM(litres) FROM deliveries GROUP BY village HAVING SUM(litres) > 5000
D. 2
Totals: A 5,500, B 4,000, C 5,700. HAVING keeps groups above 5,000, so A and C are returned: 2 rows. 0 results from applying the 5,000 test to individual rows (none of which exceeds 5,000, as a WHERE clause would do); 3 forgets the HAVING filter; 1 keeps only the largest group.
The relational model of data, on which most business databases are built, was proposed by:
D. E. F. Codd
E. F. Codd proposed the relational model in 1970. Simon described the intelligence-design-choice phases of decisions, Anthony the three levels of management activity, and Berners-Lee the World Wide Web.
A project costs 100,000 today and returns 30,000 at the end of each of the next five years. At 10%, an analyst enters =NPV(10%, -100000, 30000, 30000, 30000, 30000, 30000). Compared with the true NPV, what does this give?
B. About 12,476 instead of the true 13,724
Spreadsheet NPV discounts its first value by one period, so the outlay is wrongly discounted: the result is 13,724 / 1.1 ≈ 12,476. The correct set-up is -100,000 + NPV(10%, five flows of 30,000) ≈ 13,724. 50,000 is the undiscounted surplus; 15,096 multiplies by 1.1 instead of dividing.
Which what-if tool shows profit for a whole grid of combinations of price and yield in one table?
D. A two-variable data table
A two-variable data table recalculates one output for every pair of two inputs. Goal seek finds one input value for one target; mail merge builds letters; conditional formatting only changes cell appearance.
A survey codes 'no answer' as 999. Yields recorded are 12, 15, 999, 18 and 15 quintals, and the analyst forgets to declare 999 as missing. What mean does the package report, and what is the correct mean of valid answers?
A. 211.8 reported; 15.0 correct
Undeclared, 999 is treated as data: (12 + 15 + 999 + 18 + 15) / 5 = 211.8. Excluding it, (12 + 15 + 18 + 15) / 4 = 15.0. 12.0 divides the valid total by 5 instead of 4; 199.8 subtracts 12 from the inflated mean for no reason.
A cross-tabulation of three farm-size classes against four marketing channels is tested with chi-square. What are the degrees of freedom?
D. 6
df = (rows − 1) × (columns − 1) = 2 × 3 = 6. 12 multiplies rows by columns; 8 subtracts one from the rows only (2 × 4); 5 is (3 + 4) − 2, a confusion with adding the categories.
A group of dairy cooperatives shares a cloud set up only for their common use. Under the NIST deployment models this is a:
D. Community cloud
A community cloud serves organisations with shared concerns. A public cloud is open to anyone; a private cloud serves one organisation; a hybrid binds two or more models together.

Giving each user only the access their job needs, and nothing more, is the principle of:
D. Least privilege
Least privilege limits each account's rights. Defence in depth layers several controls; separation of duties splits a sensitive task between people; non-repudiation means a party cannot deny an action, as with digital signatures.
Which decision is the best example of a semi-structured decision suited to a DSS?
C. Choosing next season's procurement price under uncertain rainfall and competitor prices
Pricing under uncertainty mixes analysable parts (costs, volumes) with judgement, so it is semi-structured. Payment calculation, paper reordering and fixed deductions are fully structured and are automated in a TPS.
In a data-flow diagram, a farmer who supplies milk and receives payment but is outside the system is drawn as a(n):
D. External entity
Sources and sinks outside the system are external entities. Processes transform data, data stores hold data at rest, and data flows are the arrows carrying data between them.
